Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Catering Assistant to join a Secondary School on an initial 1+ month temporary contract. This is a part-time role working 16 hours per week, 3 days.

Key responsibilities include preparing ingredients, assisting chefs with cooking and plating, and maintaining hygiene standards in a school kitchen. Applicants should have prior catering experience, ideally in a school setting, and be able to work as part of a team under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a school setting is desirable.
• Experience as a catering assistant in a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients (washing, chopping, measuring) and assisting with basic food preparation
• Supporting chefs with cooking, plating, and portioning dishes
• Working as part of a team under the direction of the chef or catering supervisor
• Washing up, cleaning kitchens/work areas
• Following strict food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures
