Marlin Selection is seeking a risk-focused professional to analyse P&L and risk exposures within Gas and Power trading. You will validate pricing methodologies, monitor breaches and report to stakeholders.

You will develop reporting tools and models, support new products, and provide risk analysis to the wider business. Two years of experience in Product Control or Market Risk and a finance/maths degree are required; strong Excel/VBA/SQL/Python skills are essential, with renewable energy

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in Product Control or Market Risk, with Gas/Power trading background.
• Finance/Engineering/Mathematics degree or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of financial products, trade valuations, risk factors and P&L attribution.

Description du poste

• Preparing and analysing risk and profit and loss (P&L) reports, explaining key performance drivers, monitoring exposures and escalating any breaches of risk limits to relevant stakeholders.
• Conducting valuation checks and verifying pricing methodologies to ensure trading positions are accurately valued, while maintaining compliance with risk and P&L policies and reporting standards.
• Developing and improving reporting tools, models and processes, supporting the introduction of new products and trading activities, and providing risk analysis and advice to the wider business.

You will need to have the following experience:

• At least two years' experience in Product Control or Market Risk, with a background in Gas and Power trading, sales or flow markets and experience in a middle-office function.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or another numerically focused discipline, with a strong understanding of financial products, commodities, trade valuations, risk factors and P&L attribution.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, alongside programming and modelling experience in tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL, Python or Power BI. Exposure to renewable energy certificates, volume risk management and energy trading systems would be advantageous.
