  • Collaborate closely with Front Office traders to ensure correct valuation and accounting for positions.
  • Take ownership of daily P&L reporting, market risk metrics, and commentary, highlighting significant trading performance and exposures.
  • Review and challenge position reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy across trading desks.
  • Develop and implement robust reporting tools to provide real‑time, meaningful insights into trading activity and market risk.
  • Work closely with Finance and Trading teams to ensure smooth month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, focusing on accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting.
  • Drive system improvements and enhancements, working alongside IT and business analysts to optimise the use of ETRM systems, such as TriplePoint.
  • Lead the review of trading strategies, ensuring adherence to risk limits and profitability targets.
  • Support senior management and Risk teams with ad‑hoc reporting and risk assessments as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product control within the commodities or energy trading sectors.
  • Expertise in P&L reporting, position reconciliation, and financial controls.
  • Strong understanding of physical oil and products markets, with familiarity in commodity trading risks.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency with ETRM systems (experience with TriplePoint preferred).
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly advantageous.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams, including traders and senior management.
  • Proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing solutions.
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to quickly adapt to changing market conditions.

If you’re passionate about product control, risk management, and want to play an integral role in a leading commodities trading business, we’d love to hear from you.
