Job summary

Jobtailor in Greater London is seeking an experienced risk and product control professional to strengthen P&L reporting, valuation and risk framework adherence across trading activities.

You will partner with Front Office, Market Risk and Senior Management, delivering timely analysis and practical risk advice, while building automated tools in Excel, VBA, SQL and Python to support new products and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in Product Control, Market Risk, or a similar middle-office function.
• Strong understanding of risk measurement, P&L reporting, attribution, and trade valuations.
• Experience or exposure to Gas & Power Trading, Sales, or Flow environments.
• Solid understanding of energy markets, trading activities, and associated risk factors.
• Strong foundation in financial products and trading businesses, including commodities and derivatives such as FX, Futures, and Swaps.
• Ability to understand and assess valuation and risk drivers.
• Experience in Excel/VBA, SQL/SSIS, Python, or Power BI.
• Exposure to ETRMs or other trading and risk management systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to translate complex quantitative concepts into clear, commercially relevant insights.
• Ability to deliver high-quality solutions within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide valuation, P&L, risk measurement, monitoring, and reporting across key trading activities.

• Support onboarding of new products, instruments, markets, and trading activities.
• Perform valuation and methodology verification.
• Contribute to business-wide projects and risk initiatives.
