Multitask Personnel are recruiting Meter Readers in Preston to take accurate meter readings at homes and businesses, using a mobile app and managing your own daily workload.

This is a 16-week fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent, offering £13.45 per hour plus bonuses and mileage; you will work Monday to Friday outdoors, with flexible scheduling and overtime available.

Multitask Personnel are working with a leading utilities provider to recruit Meter Readers in the Preston area.

This is initially a 16 week fixed-term contract, with the potential for a permanent opportunity following the initial contract period.

The Role

• Visit homes and businesses to take accurate meter readings
• Carry out visual checks on metering equipment
• Record information using a mobile app
• Manage your own schedule and workload
• Speak with customers in a friendly and professional manner

About You

We are looking for reliable, customer-focused people who are comfortable working independently.

You will enjoy being out and about each day, be confident speaking with customers and be able to organise your own workload effectively.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Access to your own vehicle for work
• Valid MOT where applicable
• Business insurance or willingness to obtain it
• Must live in Preston or the surrounding PR postcode area
• Able to pass a basic DBS check
• Able to provide 5 years of work references

Desirable Experience

• Customer service or field-based experience
• Using mobile apps or handheld devices
• Awareness of GDPR and confidentiality
• Experience managing your own workload
