Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) seeks a Part-time, Temporary Personal Service Coordinator to support outreach and housing stability for people with mental health needs. The role emphasizes team collaboration, intensive case management, and linkages to housing and services in the community.

Responsibilities include street outreach, coordinating housing resources, and advocating for member needs while maintaining accurate documentation and program compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of outreach psychosocial rehab work with homeless/disabled populations.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
• Bi-lingual applicants preferred, lived mental health experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends; CPR/first aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within an integrated mobile team to provide street outreach and linkage to independent permanent housing.
• Provide outreach and engagement to individuals who are homeless through sustained, intensive processes.
• Develop and complete mental health treatment recovery plans identifying member goals and needs.
• Provide case management to help secure housing, access funding, and educate tenants’ rights.
• Transport members to services and accompany them on public transit to access needed services.
• Deliver life skills training to improve daily independent living skills.
