Job summary

Wyre Borough Council is seeking a Temporary Community Safety Officer to work with residents and partner organisations to identify local concerns, coordinate practical responses and build confidence in community safety services.

You will lead community safety activities, gather intelligence, support early intervention and prevention projects, and help deliver multi-agency action plans, while facilitating meetings and engagement events that promote resilience and involvement of seldom heard

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement, cohesion or safety initiatives.
• Proven ability to work with partner organisations to deliver initiatives or events.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to listen, question, coordinate and negotiate positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop effective relationships with residents, partner agencies and community organisations.
• Gather and assess community intelligence and data to identify risks and hot spots.
• Coordinate multi-agency interventions and support local problem-solving approaches.
• Develop early intervention and prevention programmes addressing root causes of safety concerns.
• Support delivery of partnership action plans and community safety projects.
• Facilitate community meetings, forums, engagement events and consultations.
• Monitor and evaluate projects, maintain records and produce reports.
