Job summary

Wyre is seeking a Temporary Community Safety Officer (2 Year FTC) based at Civic Centre, Poulton-le-Fylde, with regular travel across the borough. You will lead community safety activities, coordinate responses to anti-social behaviour, hate crime and exploitation, and engage with residents, the police, housing providers and services to build safer communities.

You will gather community intelligence, support early intervention, facilitate meetings, and help deliver multi-agency action plans

Qualifications

• Experience of community engagement, cohesion or safety initiatives.
• Experience of effective partnership working and bringing people together.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to listen, question, coordinate and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Proactive, flexible approach, able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop effective relationships with residents, partner agencies and community organisations.
• Gather and assess community intelligence and data to identify risks and hot spots.
• Coordinate multi-agency interventions and support local problem-solving approaches.
• Help develop early intervention and prevention programmes addressing root causes.
• Support delivery of partnership action plans and community safety projects, including funding bids.
• Facilitate community meetings, forums and engagement events.
• Monitor and evaluate projects, maintain records and produce reports.
