Job summary

Borough Kitchen is seeking Temporary Christmas Sales Associates for our Islington store during the busy festive period. Availability to work weekends, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and peak trading times is essential. Roles can be part-time or full-time with a fixed-term contract from November to December 2026.

We offer training, a welcoming team, and opportunities to learn about our range of products while delivering an exceptional shopping experience to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in frontline retail or customer service is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer experience with friendly, attentive service.
• Greet customers, understand needs, and recommend products.
• Encourage repeat visits and build customer relationships.
• Replenish stock and keep shop floor tidy and presentable.
• Support merchandising and store displays to maintain standards.
• Process purchases and assist with deliveries and after-sales queries.
• Identify opportunities for complementary products and online orders.
• Collaborate with colleagues to manage busy trading periods.

Job description

Location: Islington, London N1 1QP

Contract: Fixed-term, November–December 2026

Hours: Part-time or full-time, including weekends and bank holidays

Hourly rate: £14.80

Store opening hours: 10am–6pm, Monday to Sunday

Christmas availability: Candidates must be available to work during our busiest Christmas trading period, particularly the weekends leading up to Christmas, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day (26 December). Flexibility to work additional shifts during peak trading periods is highly desirable.

Please note that weekend and bank holiday availability is essential for this role.

Borough Kitchen is looking for enthusiastic and friendly Temporary Christmas Sales Associates to join our Islington team during the busy festive season.

We're looking for people who share our passion for food, cooking and entertaining, enjoy engaging with customers and take pride in delivering an exceptional shopping experience.

Christmas is one of our busiest and most exciting times of the year, so we're looking for team members who are flexible, reliable and happy to work as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering an excellent customer experience through friendly, attentive and knowledgeable service.
• Welcoming customers, understanding their needs and confidently recommending suitable products.
• Building positive relationships with customers and encouraging repeat visits.
• Replenishing stock and keeping the shop floor well-presented, organised and ready for trading.
• Supporting the team with merchandising, displays and maintaining store standards.
• Processing purchases, arranging deliveries and assisting with after-sales enquiries.
• Identifying opportunities to recommend complementary products, special orders and items from our online shop.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day store operations, particularly during busy trading periods.
