Confidential in Livingston is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant for a 2-3 month temporary contract. Hybrid working is available with flexible hours to support a busy period.

The role covers month-end close, journals, reconciliations, and ledger support within a collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper or Finance Analyst roles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with cross-functional collaboration.
• Advanced MS Excel and ERP system experience.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support purchase ledger and sales ledger processes where required.
• Assist with cashbook management and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Provide support with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide information as required.
• Work with other departments to resolve finance-related queries.

Temporary 2 - 3 Month Contract

Escape Recruitment Services are recruiting for our client based in Livingston, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to the existing finance team. This will be on a temporary basis estimated to last 2 to 3 months, to provide additional support during a particularly busy period. Hybrid working is available with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Support the purchase ledger and sales ledger processes where required.
• Assist with cashbook management and bank reconciliations.

• Work closely with other departments to resolve finance-related queries.

What We're Looking For:

• Candidates that have previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper &/or Finance Analyst role would be ideal.
• Strong communication skills, including Stakeholder management and working cross functionally within the business, whilst providing support the wider finance team.
• Confident IT skills, this should include advanced MS Excel skills and ideally previous ERP systems.
• Available to commence employment at short notice and commit to the full contract duration.
