Job summary

Escape Recruitment Services Ltd is recruiting for our client in Livingston for an experienced Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis, estimated to last 2 to 3 months. Hybrid working is available with flexible hours to support a busy finance team.

The role covers month-end, journals, reconciliations, ledgers, cashbook, budgeting and audits, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication. Immediate start available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Finance role.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced IT skills including MS Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Support with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support the purchase and sales ledgers where required.
• Assist with cashbook management and bank reconciliations.
• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Provide support with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide information as required.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve finance-related queries.

Escape Recruitment Services are recruiting for our client based in Livingston, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to the existing finance team. This will be on a temporary basis estimated to last 2 to 3 months, to provide additional support during a particularly busy period. Hybrid working is available with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support with month-end and year-end accounting processes.


• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.


• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.


• Support the purchase ledger and sales ledger processes where required.


• Assist with cashbook management and bank reconciliations.


• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.


• Provide support with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.


• Assist with audit preparation and provide information as required.


• Work closely with other departments to resolve finance-related queries.

What We’re Looking For:

• Candidates that have previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper &/or Finance Analyst role would be ideal.


• Strong communication skills, including Stakeholder management and working cross functionally within the business, whilst providing support the wider finance team.


• Confident IT skills, this should include advanced MS Excel skills and ideally previous ERP systems.


• Available to commence employment at short notice and commit to the full contract duration.
