Job summary

Escape Recruitment Services are recruiting for our client based in Livingston for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the existing finance team on a 2-3 month temporary basis. Hybrid working is available with flexible hours to suit the business.The role requires previous experience in similar finance roles, strong communication and stakeholder management, advanced MS Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. You will assist with month‑end, reconciliations, ledgers and budgeting.

• Experience in Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper or Finance Analyst roles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
• Available to start on short notice and commit to the full contract duration.

Temporary 2 - 3 Month Contract

Escape Recruitment Services are recruiting for our client based in Livingston, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to the existing finance team. This will be on a temporary basis estimated to last 2 to 3 months, to provide additional support during a particularly busy period. Hybrid working is available with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Support the purchase ledger and sales ledger processes where required.
• Assist with cashbook management and bank reconciliations.
• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Provide support with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide information as required.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve finance-related queries.

What We're Looking For:

• Candidates that have previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper &/or Finance Analyst role would be ideal.
• Strong communication skills, including Stakeholder management and working cross functionally within the business, whilst providing support the wider finance team.
• Confident IT skills, this should include advanced MS Excel skills and ideally previous ERP systems.
• Available to commence employment at short notice and commit to the full contract duration.
