Job summary

The JobsBoard is recruiting for a Temporary Accommodation Officer in the Thanet area. You will inspect temporary housing, organise repairs, and assist residents with information and referrals across the Housing Options team.

The role is full-time, permanent, 37 hours weekly, with a starting salary of £30,804 rising to £34,236. Flexible/hybrid working and generous leave are among the benefits. Local Government Pension Scheme membership is included.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for caller and resident interactions
• Ability to work both in the field inspecting properties and in an office setting
• Empathy and resilience when supporting residents experiencing homelessness

Responsibilities

• Make regular visits and inspections to temporary accommodation to ensure properties are in good order
• Instruct repairs or redecoration as necessary
• Provide light support to applicants with referrals, signposting and information for the Housing Options team
• Carry out office-based duties including answering calls and dealing with enquiries and housing advice
