Job summary

Kiloh Associates is a leading civil engineering and construction design consultancy seeking a driven Temporary Works Design Engineer to support our expanding portfolio across the UK.

You will design safe, cost-effective temporary works, collaborate with site teams and design professionals, and ensure compliance with industry standards and CDM 2015. Hybrid working options are available and progression to ICE/IStructE accreditation is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in temporary works or structural design is expected.
• Proficiency in BS 5975 and CDM 2015 health and safety practices.
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software: TEDDS, STAAD, Robot, AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• UK work eligibility; Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE/IStructE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design temporary works schemes including falsework, formwork, scaffolding, shoring and crane platforms.
• Prepare detailed calculations, drawings and design risk assessments.
• Ensure all designs comply with BS 5975 and relevant standards.
• Collaborate with site teams, contractors and design professionals; mentor junior staff.
• Deliver design outputs that meet company procedures and quality standards.
• Lead site inspections and technical meetings with third parties.
• Provide engineering support during construction planning and delivery.
