Job summary

Kier is seeking a Principal Temporary Works Engineer to join our team across multiple locations in the UK. You will lead complex temporary works design and management, review and check design outputs for buildability, support tenders and preconstruction planning, and provide technical input on construction-stage issues.

The role offers agile, hybrid working with up to 1–2 days from home, a 40-hour week, and the chance to work on a diverse portfolio within a major UK construction group.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in temporary works design and/or management.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Lead for multiple complex projects, managing scope, programme and budgets.
• Produce and check calculations, sketches, drawings and 3D models, ensuring CDM and QA compliance.
• Develop individuals and the team, driving continuous improvement of processes and systems.
• Lead delivery of complex construction engineering services, including temporary works design and checking.
