Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated financial services professional for a 10-month Accounts Receivable contract within the Trust's Financial Services Team. The role focuses on timely invoice processing, VAT compliance, and delivering high-quality financial service to the organisation.

You will manage debtor records, resolve invoice queries from patients and external bodies, and support senior staff while working across Trust sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy finance office with strong attention to detail.
• Good numeracy and mathematical skills.
• Understanding NHS and non-NHS legislation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience in supervising junior staff is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor outstanding debts and support the recovery of overdue balances.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries from patients, suppliers, commissioners, and other external organisations.
• Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately within agreed timescales.
• Maintain debtor records and financial information on finance systems.
• Provide support to departmental managers and other finance staff.
