We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Employee Benefits team in Manchester as a Business-to-Business (B2B) Telesales Representative / Appointment Setter.

This role is ideal for someone with relevant experience in a telesales environment, seeking to join an established, market-leading consulting firm.

Mercer Marsh Benefits combines Mercer and Marsh local offices worldwide, with country correspondents selected based on specific criteria. Our professionals in 135 countries serve clients in over 150 countries, possessing deep local market knowledge. Our common platform enables us to deliver globally consistent and locally tailored solutions.

The successful candidate will be ambitious, self-driven, and experienced as an outbound telemarketer. You will spend much of your day on the phone speaking to new and existing clients, offering a variety of employee benefits to support the growth of Mercer Marsh Benefits.

This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting outbound sales calls daily, using knowledge of our offerings to secure prospective client appointments.
  2. Performing thorough research to identify or understand prospect accounts and sales opportunities.
  3. Managing the sales process from start to finish, ensuring quality service and transactional satisfaction.
  4. Responding to client questions and requests, escalating to senior management as needed.
  5. Maintaining accurate records for reporting and audit purposes.

Requirements include:

  1. Experience in a similar telesales or call center role with ownership of responsibilities.
  2. Good academic background with strong grades in Maths and English at A-Level and/or GCSE.
  3. Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and with diverse teams.
  4. Strong networking skills and relationship-building abilities.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Preferred qualities:

  1. Experience overcoming sales objections.
  2. Experience working towards targets and KPIs.
  3. Knowledge of the Employee Benefits sector.
