Job summary

Smart Solutions in Newport is seeking a Telehandler Operator to join our busy site. You will safely operate a Telehandler to move waste and recyclables, perform pre-start checks, and follow all Health & Safety procedures.

In-house or expired Telehandler licences are accepted, and full Telehandler training can be provided for the right candidate. This is full-time, ongoing work with weekly pay; a £130 weekend-day bonus is available.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a Telehandler to move waste and recyclable materials around the site.
• Carry out daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks, reporting any defects promptly.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures, environmental legislation, and site rules.
• Work closely with site supervisors, plant operators, and colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
• Follow site traffic management procedures and remain aware of pedestrians, mobile plant, and other vehicles at all times.
• Wear and maintain the required PPE while promoting safe working practices across the site.
• Assist with general yard and recycling plant duties when required.
• Operate other mobile plant equipment where trained and authorised to support site operations.

£13.60p/h, paid weekly, every Friday

Monday – Friday, 6am – 5pm

£130 bonus, paid per weekend day worked

Our client, a leading business within the waste and recycling industry, is looking for a Telehandler Operator to join their busy site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator looking for ongoing work with a well-established company.

Don't have an in-date Telehandler licence? No problem. In-house or expired Telehandler licences will be considered, and if you have experience operating a Counterbalance or Reach FLT, full Telehandler training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Candidates with Counterbalance or Reach FLT experience are encouraged to apply, as full Telehandler training can be provided.

• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
