Job summary

Smart Solutions in Newport is seeking a Telehandler Operator to join our busy site. You will safely operate a Telehandler to move waste and recyclables, perform pre-start checks, and follow all Health & Safety procedures.

In-house or expired Telehandler licences are accepted, and full Telehandler training can be provided for the right candidate. This is full-time, ongoing work with weekly pay; a £130 weekend-day bonus is available.

Qualifications

Telehandler experience preferred.
In-house or expired Telehandler licences accepted.
Training provided for Telehandler operation.
Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate a Telehandler to move waste and recyclable materials around the site.
Carry out daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks, reporting any defects promptly.
Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures, environmental legislation, and site rules.
Work closely with site supervisors, plant operators, and colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
Follow site traffic management procedures and remain aware of pedestrians, mobile plant, and other vehicles at all times.
Wear and maintain the required PPE while promoting safe working practices across the site.
Assist with general yard and recycling plant duties when required.
Operate other mobile plant equipment where trained and authorised to support site operations.
