Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Telecoms Operator based in Tipton to join the Telecoms Operations Team. You will carry out inspection and maintenance across our communications sites and support engineers with installation work, reporting to the Telecoms Operations Team Manager (West Midlands).

You will work on site, coordinate with 3rd party contractors, and ensure clear communication with customers and team members. A National Security Vetting process applies and full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Reliable, well organised and able to work in a small team.
• Basic keyboard skills desirable with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection and maintenance activities across communications sites.
• Carry out supervision of 3rd party contractors where required.
• Support and assist communication engineers with installation work.
• Provide support to National Grid Telecoms teams where required.
