Job summary

National Grid is recruiting a Telecoms Operator based in Plymouth or Bodmin to maintain, inspect and install on our telecoms sites, reporting to the South West Telecoms Operations Team Manager. You will work largely away from the depot, meeting demanding targets while delivering excellent customer service.

You will need English and Maths GCSE at grades 1-9 or equivalent, be reliable and well organised, and be prepared to obtain National Security Vetting (SC).

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
• Ability to work away from the depot
• Security clearance eligibility (SC)

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection and maintenance activities across communications sites, and minor repairs where possible.
• Supervision of 3rd party contractors when required.
• Assist communication engineers with installation work.
• Provide support to National Grid Telecoms teams.
