Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Network Security Engineer to join the security operations team in Randburg. You will design, implement, and manage security solutions protecting our telecoms infrastructure from cyber threats.

You will conduct threat assessments, respond to incidents, and work with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies. This role requires strong automation skills and deep telecom network security knowledge.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in network security, with telecom focus.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encryption.
• Experience with SIEM tools and security analytics.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation (Python, Bash).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain advanced security measures for telecom networks.
• Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Develop and enforce security policies across network infrastructure.
