Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our client in Randburg on-site. You will design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions to protect digital assets and safeguard systems against threats.

You will lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security automation, while guiding incident response and embedding security into the software development lifecycle. Certifications like CISSP/CISM/OSCP are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and architecture.
• Expertise in network security, cloud security, and endpoint security; scripting in Python/Bash.
• Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or OSCP are highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM platforms.
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessment initiatives to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement security automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee security incident response, including forensic analysis and recovery operations.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity technologies.
