Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Telecoms Network Security Analyst to join its cybersecurity team in Queenstown. You will monitor network security, detect intrusions, respond to incidents, and implement proactive measures to protect telecommunication infrastructure.

The role offers a challenging environment with opportunities for advanced training and certification. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in CS/Cybersecurity and at least 3 years in telecoms security, with SIEM experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network security, specifically within the telecoms sector.
• Proficiency in network security technologies and protocols.
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Strong understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+ or CCNA Security are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activities and potential breaches.
• Investigate security alerts and respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
• Implement and manage security tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Conduct regular security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and update network security policies and procedures.
• Provide security awareness training to staff and collaborate with IT teams on security best practices.
