Flotek Group is seeking a Telecoms Maintenance Engineer based in Fife to support customers across Scotland and the North of England, a field-based role focusing on telecoms, connectivity and basic IT support. You'll install, maintain and troubleshoot hosted voice, telephony, SIP trunks, routers and switches, handling incidents through to resolution while delivering excellent customer service.

Travel and occasional overnight stays are required; a full UK driving licence and right to work in the

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' telecoms/field engineering experience.
• Strong VoIP/hosted telephony experience.
• Understanding of SIP, RTP, NAT and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with routing, switching, VLANs, wireless and firewalls.
• Structured cabling, patching, testing and handset deployment experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve on-site telephony and connectivity issues.
• Deliver handset deployments and telephony installations, moves/adds/changes.
• Install and troubleshoot SIP trunks, broadband circuits and firewalls.
• Carry out proactive maintenance visits and site health checks.
• Coordinate with carriers, Openreach engineers and suppliers.
• Provide basic IT support for desktops, laptops and MS 365 queries.
• Own incidents through to resolution and escalate when required.
• Maintain documentation in HaloPSA and ITGlue.
• Deliver excellent customer service and identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in a shared on-call rota.

Job description

We're looking for a Telecoms Maintenance Engineer based in Fife to support customers across Scotland and the North of England. This is a field-based role focused primarily on telecoms and connectivity, with a basic IT support element. You'll install, maintain and troubleshoot hosted voice, telephony and connectivity solutions, attending both planned installations and reactive service calls. You'll become a trusted face for our partners, providing excellent customer service while taking ownership of incidents through to resolution. Travel is required, including occasional overnight stays. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.

• Diagnose and resolve on-site telephony, voice and connectivity issues.
• Deliver handset deployments, telephony installations and moves/adds/changes.
• Install and troubleshoot SIP trunks, broadband circuits, routers, switches and firewalls.
• Carry out proactive maintenance visits and site health checks.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers and Openreach engineers.
• Provide basic first-line IT support for desktops, laptops, printers and Microsoft 365 queries.
• Own incidents through to resolution, escalating where required.
• Maintain accurate documentation within HaloPSA and ITGlue.
• Deliver excellent customer service and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in a shared on-call rota.

Essential

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a telecoms, communications, MSP or field engineering role.
• Strong VoIP and hosted telephony experience.
• Understanding of SIP, RTP, NAT and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with routing, switching, VLANs, wireless and firewalls.
• Structured cabling, patching, testing and handset deployment experience.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Microsoft 365 and general IT support experience.
• Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing and Operator Connect knowledge.
• Experience with Gamma, Horizon, CallSwitch, Yealink or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with SonicWall, UniFi, Aruba or DrayTek networking.
• CompTIA Network+, MS-900, AZ-900 or other relevant certifications.
• Experience using HaloPSA, ITGlue, Datto or similar MSP tools.
