Job summary

MCS Group is seeking a Telecoms Engineer to join a growing technology and communications business in Northern Ireland. This field-based, permanent role focuses on telecoms, VoIP and networking solutions, with remote and onsite support across customer sites.

You will troubleshoot faults, install and upgrade systems, and liaise directly with customers while developing telecoms and unified communications expertise. A full UK driving licence is required.

Telecoms Engineer

Northern Ireland | Field-Based | Permanent

We're recruiting on behalf of an established technology and communications business looking for a Telecoms Engineer to join their growing technical team.

Already in IT or Networking? You don't need a telecoms background.

Our client is particularly keen to hear from Network, Systems, Infrastructure or IT Engineers who have strong networking experience and want to cross-train into Telecoms, VoIP and Unified Communications.

The Role

You’ll work across customer sites, installing, configuring and supporting a range of telecoms, VoIP and networking solutions, as well as providing remote and onsite technical support.

You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting faults, delivering installations and upgrades, liaising directly with customers and ensuring issues are resolved effectively.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years' experience in an IT, Networking, Systems or Engineering role
• Strong LAN/WAN and IP networking knowledge
• Confident troubleshooting technical issues
• Good customer-facing and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently at customer sites
• Keen to learn and develop within Telecoms and VoIP
• Full UK driving licence

Experience with VoIP, SIP, IP Telephony, Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft, VMware or Linux would be advantageous, but telecoms experience is not essential if you have a strong systems/networking background.
