Job summary

Flagship Pioneering, through Pioneering Medicines, is seeking a co‑op in Technical Operations to build internal apps, dashboards, and automation tools that accelerate drug development. You’ll own projects end to end and access cutting‑edge tools in a collaborative environment.

You’ll work across teams with senior leaders to translate needs into working software, applying AI‑assisted development tools. Eligible students should be pursuing CS/engineering degrees and show hands‑on project

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience building applications—not just coursework, but ideally projects you can show us (GitHub repos, deployed apps, and side projects all count)
• Familiarity with at least some of: React/JavaScript, Python, HTML/CSS, SQL, or similar
• Experience with or strong interest in AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Vercel, Claude Code, GitHub, Copilot, ReplitAgent, etc.)
• Comfort working with ambiguity, you’ll often get a problem, not a spec
• Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, MA

Responsibilities

• Build and iterate on React-based dashboards and internal web apps that track drug development portfolios, resource forecasting, and program milestones
• Create AI-powered workflows to automate document generation, data extraction, and reporting
• Connect data across systems (Smartsheet, SharePoint, Benchling, and others) into unified, usable tools
• Prototype new approaches, if you find a better way to solve a problem, pitch it and build it
• Work directly with senior leaders across CMC functions to understand their pain points and turn them into working software
