About The Role

We are looking for a Technician with a focus on Science and Art to join our brand new Pudsey Sixth Form college!

You will work across teams supporting our science and creative curriculum areas. You will need to work well independently and as part of a team to prepare resources for practical science and creative sessions and occasionally support in the laboratory.

What You Will Do

  1. Ensure the preparation, delivery, and setting up of all equipment (where necessary) for use by staff and students, including related paperwork for practical sessions within the Science Department.
  2. Ensure the preparation, delivery, and setting up of all equipment (when necessary) for use by staff and students, including related paperwork for practical sessions within the Creative Arts Department.
  3. Keep workshops, laboratories, classrooms, and all equipment used clean, tidy, and in a safe condition.
  4. Carry out routine and non-routine checking and fault investigation of all commonly used equipment and report to the senior/lead technician if replacements or further investigation are required.

About You

You will have:

  1. GCSE English and Maths, grade A* - C or equivalent.
  2. Good communication skills.
  3. Effective time and resource management skills.
  4. A science background with an understanding of health and safety regulations, relevant policies, and codes of practice.
  5. Previous experience working in an educational environment.
  6. The ability to work on your own initiative and within a team.
