The RoleWe are seeking a skilled
Electrical Technician to join a dynamic, multi-discipline team working on cutting-edge technology development and testing. You will collaborate closely with engineers and scientists, playing a key role in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for experiments, prototypes, and customer equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and set up electrical systems, instruments, and materials for experiments, tests, and customer systems.
- Fabricate, assemble, and maintain electrical subsystems and components for test and operational equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment to ensure reliability.
- Assist engineers and scientists in conducting experiments, collecting data, and analysing results.
- Accurately record and document electrical test data and observations.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues during testing and operation.
- Support the development and optimisation of electrical systems and lab procedures.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent).
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (or equivalent).
- Strong experience in maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Proficiency with electrical hand tools, testing instruments, PLCs, and data logging systems.
- Experience working with hazardous gases or in ATEX-rated environments is a plus.
Salary Package:- Competitive Annual Salary - 30,000- 35,000
- Pension: 5% employer contribution (3% employee contribution).
