Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) is seeking a Technician - Motor Vehicle to support practical teaching and learning across its campuses. The role involves demonstrations, supervision, and preparing materials for lessons while maintaining a safe, orderly workshop environment.

Expect to engage with student inductions and college events. Successful candidates will have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, plus Level 2 English and Maths, and experience in a workshop setting.

• Experience working in a workshop-based environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in induction of students.
• Support lecturing staff with practical demonstrations and instructions.
• Prepare equipment and materials for lessons.
• Maintain a safe learning environment and uphold safe working practices.
• Manage supplies, parts and consumables; keep learning areas clean and organized.
• Participate in events (parents' evenings, recruitment, trade events, open days) to support college marketing.

The position of Technician - Motor Vehicle at BCA is aimed at providing an exceptional student experience by ensuring a safe and effective practical teaching and learning environment. The role involves supporting learning through demonstrations, instruction, and supervision. The main duties include assisting in the induction of students, helping lecturing staff with practical demonstrations and instructions, and preparing equipment and materials for lessons. Technicians are also expected to participate in various events such as parents' evenings, recruitment, trade events, and open days, contributing to the college's marketing efforts. A key responsibility of the Technician - Motor Vehicle is to maintain a safe learning environment. This involves adhering to safe working practices, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring the maintenance and servicing of all equipment and machinery. In addition, they must manage supplies, parts, and consumables, keeping the practical learning areas clean and organized. This role requires the individual to ensure that the environment promotes a discrimination-free atmosphere where students and staff can express individuality safely.

To be successful you will require a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, along with Level 2 English and maths. In addition to experience working in a workshop-based environment.

Technician - Motor Vehicle This full-time position involves working 37 hours per week on an all-year-round support contract at our Berkshire College of Agriculture Campus and pays on Scale G of the Support Staff Scale (G17 £25, 483 up to G19 £27,284).
