Windsor Forest Colleges Group is hiring two Technicians to join the Construction Department at Slough and Langley College campuses. The roles are full-time, 37 hours per week, with shifts 08:30–17:00 (Mon–Thu) and 08:30–16:30 on Fridays. Salary on Scale G17–G19 (£25,483–£27,284) per year.

Reporting to the Head of Department, Technicians support students via hands-on demonstrations, workshop instruction, and task supervision in a safe, high-quality learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 trade qualification in Carpentry or Multi-Trades is required.
• Level 2 English and Maths are required.
• First Aid qualification is desirable or willingness to achieve one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trade-specific tools, equipment, and materials for practical lessons.
• Execute routine machine maintenance and risk assessments.
• Manage stock levels and ensure workshop cleanliness.
• Support college events such as open days and recruitment.

Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for two Technicians to join our Construction Department at our Slough and Langley College campus on a full-time permanent basis.

Technician

We are recruiting for two Technician positions based at Slough and Langley College for our Construction Department. These roles are full-time, all-year-round roles requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week Monday – Friday (hours are 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:30 – 16:30 on Fridays) and offers a salary on Scale G of the Support Staff pay scale between Scale G17 £25,483 and G19 £27,284 annually. We are looking for a specialist in carpentry and a specialist in multi-trades.

Reporting to the Head of Department Technicians are pivotal in providing a safe, high-quality practical learning environment by supporting students through hands‑on demonstrations, workshop instruction, and task supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing trade‑specific tools, equipment, and materials for practical lessons, executing routine machine maintenance and risk assessments, managing stock levels, ensuring workshop cleanliness, and supporting college events such as open days and recruitment.

Candidates must hold a Level 3 qualification in their relevant trade area (Carpentry or Multi‑Trades), Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, practical industry experience, and a First Aid qualification (or willingness to achieve one).

Essential attributes include solid IT, administrative, and organisational skills, along with a firm commitment to health and safety, safeguarding, and inclusive student support. Prior experience working with young people or within an educational setting, alongside the ability to embed functional English and Maths into practical workshop tasks, is highly desirable for both roles.
