Technician (Hardware Development)

Join our R&D department at ASSA ABLOY, Traka, based in Olney, UK. We offer a collaborative culture that empowers you to build a career you can be proud of.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced technical and quality support for products across electronics, mechanical, and firmware components, including root cause analysis.
• Manage support requests, rejects, and returns escalated to R&D.
• Interact with other R&D departments, production, quality teams, suppliers, and field technicians.
• Work within the Hardware Development team alongside design engineers.
• Build, rework, and repair Printed Circuit Assemblies.
• Devise tests and experiments, and support equipment calibration schedules.

Skills and Experience Needed:

• HNC or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
• Ability to read schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on engineering skills (soldering, wiring, mechanical).
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence/Jira and embedded firmware programming in C is a plus.
