Job summary

Overview

As an Established Technician, you will provide technical processing support across broking and technical operations, handling standard and increasingly complex processing activities in line with regulatory requirements, compliance procedures and internal audit standards.

Building on previous technical experience, you will work with moderate guidance, applying your insurance and market knowledge to make routine decisions, resolve issues, maintain accurate documentation and support quality control. You will also help develop less experienced colleagues, contribute to process improvements and ensure service standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, training and support to less experienced team members as required.

What We're Looking For

• A sound understanding of insurance principles and the policy lifecycle.
• Knowledge of different classes of insurance business.
• An understanding of broking, claims, premium processing and delegated authority procedures.
• Familiarity with London Market processes, insurance distribution channels and the wider insurance industry.
• An understanding of the relationship between technical processing activities and insurance broking accounting (IBA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information and make routine decisions in line with established procedures.
• The ability to work independently with moderate guidance and recognise when issues require escalation.
• Competence in relevant business systems, Microsoft Excel and Power BI reporting.
• Strong organisational, communication, customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• A CII Certificate in Insurance, or equivalent relevant technical knowledge and experience.
