Job summary

Weston College in Filton, Bristol is seeking a Technician - Engineering to support the Engineering team. You will assist in running workshops, set up learning activities and help ensure equipment is ready for practical sessions.

You will maintain equipment, manage stock, supervise safety checks and advise staff on keeping workshops compliant with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Qualification in Engineering.
• Up-to-date knowledge of engineering practices.
• Excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff and students in the Engineering department.
• Assist in managing workshops and preparing learning activities.
• Clean, maintain and repair equipment in workshops.
• Maintain an inventory of equipment and materials and advise staff on stock levels.
• Contribute to Health and Safety checks and supervise to uphold standards.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Technician - Engineering, to support the team, in Filton, Bristol. As a Technician, you will provide technical support to both the staff and students within our Engineering department. You will assist in the management of workshops and will safely set up and prepare learning activities as well as cleaning, maintaining and repairing equipment within these areas. You will also maintain an inventory of all relevant equipment and materials and will advise staff to ensure that these stocks are maintained. A good knowledge of Health and Safety within the workshops will be required, as you will be required to undertake regular checks on relevant equipment and will provide supervision to ensure that work and safety standards are being maintained.
