Job summary

Cheshire College - South & West is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the Crewe Campus team. The role involves providing technical support in Engineering, preparing materials, and developing practical activities for learners and staff.

Key duties include assisting in practical classes, conducting demonstrations, and performing risk assessments for technical activities. The post requires Level 2 qualification, GCSEs in Maths/English, IOSH or willingness to work towards, and an enhanced DBS

Qualifications

Level 2 (or equivalent) in relevant discipline.
GCSE Grade C (4/5) Maths and English.
IOSH qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
Valid first aid certificate or willingness to work towards;
Proven experience of working in a Engineering environment;
Excellent organisational skills; and
Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

The preparation, storage and maintenance of materials and equipment within the curriculum areas;
To provide technical support within the Engineering department;
Develop and construct activities for use in practical sessions;
Assist in practical classes, carrying out demonstrations and trialling practical activities;
Carry out risk assessments for technical activities.
