Job summary

Harlow College Group is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Technician to support practical workshops and learner development. You will apply your hands-on engineering experience in machining, manufacturing, maintenance or mechatronics to supervise practical activities, support delivery of lessons, and promote safe workshop practices for students aged 16 and above.

You don’t need a teaching qualification; you must have NVQ3 or equivalent and Level 2 Maths/English, and be prepared to train on the

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Practical engineering experience, ideally within machining, manufacturing, maintenance, mechatronics or a related engineering environment is preferred.
• An understanding of engineering workshop Health and Safety.
• Good practical and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young people and colleagues.
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider teaching and support team.
• You don’t need to have a qualification in teaching or assessing, just a passion for Engineering, strong communication skills and a willingness to train on the job.
