Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting a Vehicle Technician in Wakefield. You’ll service, diagnose, and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards, working with advanced diagnostic equipment in a modern workshop.

The role offers ongoing manufacturer training, development opportunities across the group, a competitive base salary up to £34,500 with OTE £40,000+, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension and staff parking.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician or automotive technician.
• Strong diagnostic skills and fault-finding ability.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults efficiently.
• Complete repairs accurately and to standards.
• Perform vehicle health checks and identify additional work when needed.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines and health & safety regulations.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Collaborate with service advisors to deliver excellent customer experience.
• Maintain high workshop efficiency without compromising quality.

VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Location: Wakefield
Salary: Up to £34,500 Basic Salary | OTE £40,000+

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm | 1 in 3 Saturdays

THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Technician, you\'ll be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards while delivering exceptional levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on customer vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults efficiently
• Completing repairs accurately and to manufacturer standards
• Carrying out vehicle health checks and identifying additional work where required
• Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer guidelines and health & safety regulations
• Accurately completing job cards and workshop documentation
• Working closely with Service Advisors and colleagues to deliver an outstanding customer experience
• Maintaining high levels of workshop efficiency without compromising quality

ABOUT YOU

We\\'re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, or Automotive Technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• EV/Hybrid knowledge is desirable but not essential
• MOT Tester Licence advantageous but not essential
• Ownership of your own tools and toolbox
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
