Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

OTE: up to £51,600 (basic £30,000 - £45,000; plus OTE up to £6,600) + extra £2,000 for EV Qualification

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm with 30 minutes lunch; Saturdays on rota 8am to 1pm (1 in 3 as overtime)

Job Overview

Lookers Chelmsford Volvo is recruiting a Vehicle Technician for their workshop. You will work alongside experienced technicians, performing vehicle health checks, services, and repairs. Reporting to the aftersales manager Andrew Gerrie, you will receive ongoing support and training, including manufacturer accredited schemes and Hybrid & Electric training.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
2. Conducting vehicle services according to manufacturer guidelines and customer requests
3. Performing additional repairs with customer approval
4. Completing warranty repairs as per manufacturer guidelines
5. Road testing vehicles to ensure faults are rectified
6. Completing all relevant paperwork to a high standard

Candidate Requirements

Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, motor industry experience, and a valid UK driving license. Self-motivated, team-supportive, ambitious, eager to learn, and committed to high standards. Brand experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Diagnostic, MOT, and EV experience are also advantageous.
