Job summary

The Queen Elizabeth Academy in Atherstone is seeking a dedicated Technician to support science, food and STEM departments. You will work with teachers to provide resources, assist with learning activities and offer practical help across subjects.

The role requires a GCSE at least 4/C+, knowledge of health and safety in practical subjects, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while supporting pupils in a dynamic secondary school setting.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level 4/C+ including English and Maths.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations relating to practical subjects in schools.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Creative and organised to support across science, food and STEM departments.

Responsibilities

  • Support with resources, learning and technical support to meet the needs of each department across science, food and STEM.
  • Help ensure compliance with health and safety and security measures at all times and support teachers and pupils with practical activities.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 21 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)

Salary: NJC 3 - 6

Actual Salary: £12,104 - £12,687 per annum / FTE Salary: £24,795 - £25,988 per annum (pending pay award)

The Queen Elizabeth Academy are looking to appoint a creative and organised Technician to work across our science, food and STEM departments, who has a real drive to enhance pupils' experience of secondary education. The successful candidate will work in partnership with class teachers to support with resources, learning and technical support to meet the needs of the each department.

Our Academy is a well led, dynamic team, whose colleagues all enjoy supporting the Academy and its culture of outstanding success amongst our pupils. The appointed candidate will ensure compliance with health and safety and security measures at all times and support teachers and pupils with practical activities.

The ideal candidate will have a good basic level of education to GCSE level 4/C+ (to include English and Maths), have an awareness of health and safety regulations relating to practical subjects in schools and have the ability to keep calm under pressure.
