Engage Talent Partners are recruiting on behalf of an Aberdeen-based client for an onshore Cable Technician to join their manufacturing team.

The role involves assembling, soldering, preparing and testing products, with experience in electrical terminations and fibre optic work. Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience in soldering and wiring connectors.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Electrical experience essential; subsea background desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts per engineering drawings.
• Prepare parts for termination and encapsulation.
• Perform electrical terminations and splices via soldering and mechanical methods.
• Carry out Fibre Optic terminations in line with processes.
• Mix polyurethane, polyethylene, epoxy resins.
• Interpret drawings to manufacture per specs.
• Manufacture connectors and inserts from raw components.
• Test products and accurately record results.
• Maintain machinery and equipment to proper standards.

Engage Talent Partners are working with our Aberdeen based client to recruit for an onshore Technician to join their existing team.

Our client specialises in subsea connectivity solutions with a focus on the oil and gas, renewable energy, and defence sector. The business has over 35 years of experience within the industrial machinery manufacturing industry.

The company are looking for an experienced Cable Technician to join the team in manufacturing, assembling, soldering, preparing and testing products.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble parts supplied in kit form as per engineering drawings.
• Prepare supplied parts for termination and encapsulation.
• Carry out electrical terminations and splices through soldering and mechanical processes.
• Carry out Fibre Optic terminations in line with the defined processes.
• Mixing and casting of a variety of Polyurethane, Polyethylene, and epoxy resins.
• Interpret technical engineering drawings to manufacture in line with process specifications.
• Manufacture of connectors and connector inserts from raw components.
• Test products and accurately record and document results.
• Maintain all machinery and equipment to proper standards on a regular basis.

The candidate for this role will have two to three years in soldering and wiring of connectors and assemblies with an understanding of technical drawings/wiring schematics. In addition, good knowledge of Microsoft systems and the ability to develop creative solutions to problems are a great asset to the role. Electrical experience is necessary and a previous Subsea background would be ideal.
