Technical Underwriting Training Consultant - Commercial Lines

Locations: Manchester, Glasgow, Perth, Leeds

Are you an experienced underwriter with a passion for developing others? Do you thrive on building capability, driving performance, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes?

We’re looking for a Technical Underwriting Training Consultant to join our Commercial Lines & Distribution Academy – a team dedicated to empowering underwriters with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, developing and delivering impactful training predominantly underwriting technical training enabling underwriting licence progression.
  • Coaching and mentoring underwriters through group sessions and 1:1 development.
  • Designing and implementing capability plans delivering for our people and to support the business needs
  • Collaborating across teams to identify and address training gaps using insights from quality checks and performance reviews.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships and being a visible, hands-on presence across the business.
Qualifications
  • Expert Underwriting Knowledge: Proven commercial underwriting expertise with demonstrated trading confidence and cross-class (Property, Liability and Motor Trade) licence authorities preferable
  • Excellent Time Management and Organisational Skills: You will have a variety of work that will need planning to achieve results.
  • Consultancy and Coaching: Proven ability to provide consultancy and coaching to embed capability effectively.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire stakeholders
  • Great Team Player: You will need to be adaptable and work incredibly well across a team and wider business area.
