Job summary

HSB, a specialist insurer, is hiring a Technical Underwriter for its Partnerships team in London, Manchester or Birmingham. The role blends underwriting expertise with product governance to support innovative insurance propositions.

You’ll draft policy wordings, delegated authority agreements and reinsurance treaties while guiding colleagues and partners on technical matters. Hybrid working is available and career development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial or consumer insurance underwriting.
• Experience drafting or reviewing policy wordings or delegated authority agreements.
• Good understanding of insurance regulation and underwriting governance.
• ACII qualification desirable or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• As a Technical Underwriter, support Partnerships by ensuring products and documentation are accurate and compliant.
• Draft and maintain policy wordings, delegated authority agreements, and reinsurance treaties.
• Provide technical guidance and training to colleagues and partners.
• Contribute to new product development and ensure standards throughout the partnership lifecycle.
