Job summary

d3t is expanding its studio and seeking a Technical UI Designer to redefine what's possible and build best-in-class UI/UX across platforms. This role is based in the UK with hybrid options at Daresbury or Newcastle, requiring 3 days in the studio each week.

You will work with engineers, UX designers, and artists to implement UI features, polish AAA-grade interfaces, and ensure accessibility and performance across multiple devices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional game UI development experience.
• Implemented UI screens, widgets, logic, and data flows with other disciplines.
• Experience with rapid prototyping from concept to completion with ownership.
• Experience polishing features to AAA quality and maintaining them throughout production.
• Experience with UI systems such as Unity UI, Unreal UI, ImGui, WPF, or Qt is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Structure, plan, estimate, and implement UI features aligned with game goals, accessibility, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, scripters, UX designers, and UI artists to implement 2D/3D layouts, menus, animations, HUDs, and more.
• Use Python, JavaScript, or C++ or visual scripting (Unreal Blueprints, Unity VS) to implement UI logic.
• Improve implementation based on feedback, design requirements, and direction.
• Ensure interfaces scale correctly across platforms and resolutions without frame drops.
• Tool authoring: build tools and workflows for other UI artists.
• Shader and material work for UI effects and transitions.
• Report to technical directors and project managers.
• Maintain attention to detail and typography; foster collaborative culture.
