Job description

This position plays a key role in supporting the Company’s internal and customer-related training requirements. Responsibilities include capturing training needs, preparing training materials, delivering training sessions, and producing supporting documentation such as User Guides. The role requires a thorough understanding of our Managed Services technologies and the ability to tailor training to the technical and experiential level of trainees. This position is based at the Company’s premises in Stoke-on-Trent and involves delivering training at various geographically dispersed customer sites.

The Technical Trainer will collaborate closely with the SecureCloud+ Transition Delivery and Service Operations Teams, partners, and vendors to develop the necessary knowledge for each training course. Travel to customer locations for training delivery and refresher sessions will be required, accounting for approximately 25% of work time, with occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Needs Analysis:

• Conduct workshops to identify training audiences, stakeholders, roles, training gaps, and objectives
• Draft comprehensive Training Needs Analysis reports

Training Design and Development:

• Create Learning Specifications, Lesson Plans, and develop training exercises and content

Training Delivery:

• Set up training environments at SecureCloud+ and customer sites
• Deliver training sessions and conduct post-training assessments for continuous improvement

User / Support Documentation:

• Produce User Guides, Manuals, and Maintenance Guides

Internal Training Planning:

• Coordinate internal training requirements and source suitable courses
• Collaborate with HR and team leaders on training and budgets

Testing:

• Support testing plans and processes in collaboration with technical teams

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalent
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification
• High attention to detail and quality standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence in interacting with personnel at all levels, including technical staff and customers
• Representation skills at customer sites
• Commitment to ongoing technical and training skill development
• Proactive, team-oriented approach
• Flexibility to adapt to organizational changes
• Ability to obtain security clearance at least at SC level
• Experience sourcing and delivering high-quality technical training, especially in military or MOD environments, is beneficial
• Understanding of technologies related to collaboration solutions, server and network infrastructure, unified communications, and high-security environments
