Job summary

Alexander Faraday Recruitment seeks a Technical Trainer for the Defence sector to deliver technical and practical maintenance training to military customers across the UK and internationally.

The role combines classroom and hands-on instruction, with demonstrations of maintenance, servicing, testing and overhaul procedures. Candidates should have aerospace/defence engineering experience and strong communication skills, plus willingness to travel extensively.

Technical Trainer – Defence Sector

£45,000 – £50,000 + benefits | UK & International Travel

Are you an experienced aerospace, a or military engineering professional who enjoys sharing your technical knowledge?

This is an opportunity to move into a specialist Technical Instructor role, travelling to military customer sites across the UK and internationally to deliver a combination of classroom and practical, hands-on training on highly specialised aerospace equipment.

The Role

• Deliver technical and practical maintenance training to military customers.
• Travel to UK and international military bases to deliver training.
• Demonstrate maintenance, servicing, testing and overhaul procedures.
• Prepare and adapt training materials, presentations and assessments.
• Answer technical questions and support customers with problem solving.
• Work alongside engineering and field service teams where required.

About You

We're interested in experienced aerospace engineers, aircraft technicians, military engineers and technical trainers who can combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to teach others.

You'll need:

• Hands-on aerospace, aviation, military or defence engineering experience.
• The ability to understand technical procedures and engineering drawings.
• Experience using engineering tools and test equipment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Confidence dealing with experienced technical customers.
• A willingness to travel regularly, including internationally.

Formal training qualifications are beneficial, but we're equally interested in technically strong engineers or technicians who have experience training, coaching or mentoring others.
