Ocho People Ltd. in Belfast is seeking a Software Team Lead to build a regulatory reporting platform, using Java, Spring Boot, Postgres/Aurora, React and an AWS-native, EKS-containerised stack.

This is not hands-off; you will actively engage in architecture, code reviews, and delivery for a team of eight to twelve engineers in a hybrid setup. You’ll represent the team to operations, compliance and senior management, coach high and low performers, and champion modern engineering practices with AI

Qualificações

• Hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Cloud-native, containerised architecture (AWS, EKS, Docker).
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Some people-management exposure or leadership through influence.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Line manage 8–12 engineers with 1:1s and reviews.
• Own delivery planning and prioritisation with the product owner via Jira.
• Make escalation decisions for incidents and resolutions.
• Represent the team at risk meetings with regulatory and senior stakeholders.
• Support use of AI tooling for tests and PoCs.
• Manage release processes and change boards.
• Coach and develop both high and low performers.
