Job summary

Vickerstock are recruiting a Technical Support Engineer in County Tyrone to provide hands-on technical assistance across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. The role blends customer support with engineering problem-solving and occasional on-site visits, within a supportive engineering team.

The successful candidate will diagnose faults, interpret schematics, and contribute to product improvements while delivering remote guidance and practical troubleshooting to customers and service

Qualifications

• Experience in technical support, field service, maintenance or hands-on engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with machinery or complex engineered products.
• Good communication to explain technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers and service personnel.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Provide remote technical assistance and develop effective solutions to equipment issues.
• Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to support fault diagnosis.
• Investigate recurring technical issues and help identify root causes.
• Work closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to resolve product-related issues.
• Feed customer and field experience back into Engineering to support product improvements.
• Support the development of technical procedures, information and training materials.
• Provide technical guidance on the operation, maintenance and repair of machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of technical issues and engineering solutions.
• Support new and existing products from a technical perspective.
• Provide technical training and guidance where required.
• Occasionally travel to customer locations to assist with more complex technical issues and provide hands-on support.
