Job summary

VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join an established engineering business supporting customers across Ireland. This is a field-based role suited to an experienced HGV Technician, Auto Electrician, Vehicle Technician or Service Engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

Based in Lisburn, you will service and repair distribution tractors and specialist equipment at customer sites, manage your workload and ensure compliance with health & safety

Qualifications

• Qualified with City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical & Electronic Systems – Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Substantial auto-electrical fault finding/repair experience.
• Experience with HGVs, heavy vehicles or specialist equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, inspections, fault finding and repairs on distribution tractors, Ro-Ro tractors and specialist equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults at customer sites across Ireland.
• Use diagnostic equipment and manuals to identify and resolve issues and inspect accident-damaged machinery.

VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join an established engineering business supporting customers across Ireland.
This is a field-based role suited to an experienced HGV Technician, Auto Electrician, Vehicle Technician or Service Engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

The Role

• Carry out servicing, inspections, fault finding and repairs on a range of distribution tractors, Ro-Ro tractors and specialist equipment.
• Attend customer sites across Ireland to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Use diagnostic equipment, technical manuals and testing equipment to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Inspect accident-damaged machinery and produce accurate reports to support repair requirements.
• Work independently in the field while maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workmanship.
• Manage your own workload, parts stock, equipment and customer documentation.
• Ensure repairs and preventative maintenance are completed in line with manufacturer recommendations and safe working procedures.
• Provide a professional and customer-focused service when representing the business on customer sites.

About You

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical & Electronic Systems – Maintenance & Repair, or an equivalent qualification.
• Substantial experience in auto-electrical fault finding and repair.
• Experience working with HGVs, heavy goods vehicles or specialist vehicles/equipment.
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle diagnostic systems and electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Full, valid driving licence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
• Flexible approach to work, with the ability to work away from home and undertake occasional out-of-hours call-outs when required.
