Job summary

TECREC is seeking an experienced Technical Supervisor to join our client’s team at a state-of-the-art critical environment in Chestnut, Hertfordshire. You will oversee the day technical team, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance activities are performed to a high standard and supporting the operation, monitoring and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.

The role covers UPS, diesel generators, power distribution, HVAC and associated control systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in a data centre or critical environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Good knowledge of building services including UPS, diesel generators, HVAC and refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day technical team and ensure maintenance activities meet a high standard.
• Carry out preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of infrastructure equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure equipment and respond to emergency repairs.
• Complete regular site rounds and inspections.
• Record and report all work to facility management.
• Assist with maintenance planning and procedures; support commissioning and decommissioning.

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced and technically focused Technical Supervisor to join our client's team at a new, state-of-the-art critical environment in Chestnut, Hertfordshire.

The successful candidate will oversee the day technical team, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed to a high standard. You'll play a key role in supporting the operation, monitoring and maintenance of critical infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, UPS systems, generators, power distribution and associated control and monitoring systems.

You do not need to be HVAP for this position, although LVAP would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in the work carried out by the day technical team.
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed to a high standard.
• Carry out preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of infrastructure equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure equipment and systems and respond to emergency repairs.
• Complete regular site rounds and inspections.
• Ensure all work activities are accurately recorded and reported to facility management.
• Support maintenance planning and the development and implementation of maintenance procedures.
• Assist with commissioning, installation and decommissioning of infrastructure equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience within a data centre and/or critical environment.
• Strong technical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Electrical or mechanical building services qualification to a minimum of City & Guilds level.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Good working knowledge of building services, including UPS, diesel generators, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration.
• LVAP would be beneficial; HVAP is not essential.
