Job summary

HSB Technical Ltd is recruiting for a Technical Superintendent - Dry Dock in Greater London. The role involves planning and overseeing vessel dry dockings, from work scopes to delivery, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and quality.

You will collaborate with vessel superintendents, planners, shipyards and surveyors to deliver docking projects, manage costs, and handle changes to work scopes. Prior experience with dry dockings and knowledge of class surveys and ISM is expected.

Qualifications

• Practical marine engineering and vessel management experience or my client may look at someone from a Welding / Fabrication background.

Responsibilities

• Lead dry docking projects from initial planning through to completion and handover.
• Develop docking specifications and repair packages with vessel superintendents and planners.
• Oversee shipyard work, monitoring safety, quality, progress and costs.
• Coordinate class surveys, statutory inspections and certification during dockings.
• Manage changes to work scopes and resolve technical issues as they arise.

The below job description will outline this position of: Technical Superintendent - Dry Dock

Typically, this person will plan and oversee vessel dry dockings, from developing work scopes and repair specifications through to delivery and close-out. They will work with vessel superintendents, planners, shipyards and surveyors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required standard.

• Practical marine engineering and vessel management experience or my client may look at someone from a Welding / Fabrication background.
• Proven experience managing dry dockings, refits or major vessel repairs.
• Knowledge of class requirements, statutory inspections and the ISM Code.
• Experience with high-speed vessels or aluminium hulls would be advantageous.
